Sarah Jane Harris, Born 23 September 1870. [She was born in Port Albert, North Auckland, 1870, a daughter of a Cornish immigrant father, Joseph Henry Harris, and Cornish mother, Thamazine Joll.] Following the early deaths of both parents, *Sarah was in service in Woodville, then in Wanganui to a Mrs Powell, (Grave at Upper Aramoho Cemetery Wanganui).

Sarah Jane Harris married January 24, 1894, to Andrew Alexander Gilmour (Born 21 July 1866)

Sarah Jane had the nick name of Jeannie.

Andrew  & Sarah Jane had 5 children

Isobel Thamazine 1894;

Eileen Mary 1896/married Harold Good 1919 (three children);

Nina May 1898/married Francis Joseph Griggs (no children);

Ada Mildred 1906;

Vera Adelaide 1908/married Loris James Matthews, Mt. Stewart, Sanson (some children still living as at 2006).

In early Electoral Rolls Andrew appeared as a farmer at Ngaio Glade and he, like his father, also worked for the Wanganui Council.
